Trusted Sources of Information

Bad information and false reports can create a hazard for community members and first responders. Please be sure you stay informed and only share vetted information from trusted sources. The Truckee Police Department, Truckee Fire Protection District and Nevada County Office of Emergency Services all utilize CodeRED Emergency Alert System a primary method of communication during critical incidents.

Be vigilant and monitor local media to stay informed of current situations. If power is out, utilize a battery powered radio and plug in an older style phone that does not require power. Communicate with neighbors to help stay informed. Check in on your five Emergency Allies to ensure they are ready.
