Short-Term Rental Helpline

Report short-term rental compliance issues to the 24/7 bilingual Short-Term Rental Helpline. Once a call is placed to the Helpline, the Helpline Agent will call the local emergency contact associated with the short-term rental notifying them of the complaint so the local contact can remedy within 60 minutes.

  • Call the Helpline: 530-450-2430
  • Webform - The webform can be submitted as well but this will not trigger a notification to the local contact to remedy the complaint. This will only notify STR Division staff.

Interior Posting Requirements

The short-term rental ordinance requires certain information to be posted within the interior of rental units in a visible location. We have created the documents listed below to help you meet this requirement. Please print and post:

Fire-Self Certification Form

Operators must self-certify compliance with the Fire Code and fire safety requirements. The Fire-Self Certification Form (PDF) must be completed and submitted as part of the registration application.

Trash & Bear Sheds

  • Short-term rental properties must subscribe to a two-can trash service and provide two 32-gallon cans for trash collection. 
  • To subscribe to a two-can service, call Tahoe Truckee Sierra Disposal at 530-583-7800.
  • For two-can service rates please view the Solid Waste Fee Schedule.  
  • Sign up for online bill pay and extra charge email notifications via Waste101.
