Meetings are scheduled at a time and date convenient for a majority of the commissioners and staff to attend. This ensures a quorum and maximum participation and involvement in the decision-making process. Data from the prior fiscal year is provided to staff once it becomes available. This ensures that staff have the necessary information to prepare the staff report for discussions and decision-making during the meetings. Agendas are published, as legally required, 72 hours in advance of the meeting.

Purpose

The Truckee Tax Measure Citizens Oversight Board meets annually to audit the road and trail projects funded by Measures V and R to ensure that funds are used in accordance with the approved ballot measures. This review occurs in conjunction with the Town's annual financial audit.

The Board's findings are advisory to the Town Council and are reviewed as part of the Town’s annual audit process

For the purpose of their review, the Truckee Tax Measure Citizens Oversight Committee shall utilize audited financial information on actual expenditures. The Committee shall first refer to the ballot language for Measure V, R and K and, for additional guidance, to the following documents: Town Council Resolution 2008-45 placing Measure V on the ballot and the Official Argument in Favor of Measure V; Resolution 2014-08 placing Measure R on the ballot and the Official Argument in Favor of Measure R; and Resolution 2020-69 placing Measure K on the ballot and the Official Argument in Favor of Measure K.
